Eco Travel launching new “bikelink” rural bike share schemes

Over the past year we have been working on a new generation of bike suitable for rural bike share schemes. The standard fixed gear or 3 speed bike works great in a city environment but is not ideally suitable for rural towns and cities with different demands and terrains. Improvements are been developed to offer a larger 6 speed hub, puncture resistant tyres with less rolling resistance, stronger wheels and frame improvements to cater for taller riders

After a very successful 6 month pilot scheme in Co.Sligo we have gathered critical data on journey types, demands and the expectations of users. As a result we are developing an improved bike and improving the App and Backend Management Software to better cater for the demands of smaller schemes. The new improvements will also better cater for the demands of tourists and locals alike.

Orders are now been taken for town schemes in excess of 50 bikes and we are scheduling open days and onsite consultations across Ireland between September and December 2018.
